John Kellerman (center) plays water volleyball with school friends.

Kellerman, often assisted by her son, John, makes presentations to the young and the old, getting out the message.
For three years, Kellerman received funding for her work from the Governor's Council through the Pima Council on Developmental Disabilities. The contract with the Governor's Council ended in October.
Now, she frequently pays the costs of providing education and support from her own pocket.
Costs run about $6,000 a year for production of a quarterly newsletter, materials, workshops for parents and professionals and training at national conferences.
Kellerman dreams of opening a free clinic to evaluate possible victims of FAS and FAE.
And she hopes someday to have a system in place that will educate all teachers about the dangers of drinking during pregnancy.
"When I do a presentation, I always get depressed the next day, thinking about the enormous cost to society and tragic loss brought on by FAS and FAE," Kellerman said.
"I get angry, and I channel my anger into action. It helps a lot, but there simply isn't enough energy to do everything that has to be done."
