Comments: Because I have an adult cousin with FAS, I have become very aware of this problem. To date I have not found any resources in Canada, and we are looking at creating a Society for Adults with FAS/E . Any information that anyone out there has on this for Canadians would be greatly appreciated.

Comments: I really enjoyed this site. So much information that i never knew! I am interested in the characteristics and such of FAS children because i am currently coaching a little girl in gymnastics with this disorder. All the info i have received from this site is extremely helpful, as i had no idea about FAS. Now i can apply the subject matter i have found into trying to make her understand basic recreational gymnastics skills like coordination, balance, ect.. Thankyou very much!!! PS... If anyone has any information pertaining to coaching or teaching FAS children for short term periods, i would be very grateful.

Comments: Thank you so much for creating and updating this wonderful site. We have an adopted son, who was born both alcohol and "crack" cocaine addicted. He has been with us since he was 6 weeks old and is now 9 years old. We are having a terrible time finding a school that is familiar with FAS children. We are ready to move anywhere where we can find the right school for Scott. I spend my days seaching the internet for sources and ideas. I am a home-Dad, so have the time and energy to do what ever I can do. I talke Scott toschool and pick him up after school. Again, thanks for your great work. Bob Simon simonsays3@prodigy.net

I want to accomplish some great things for both areas. I know of natural supplements for FAS and ADHD that work and cure the conditions. I am very anxious to network and build a momentum of healing and wholeness. For it is possible and hopeful!!!!

I feel sad whenever I think about my cousin and know that her problem could have so easily been prevented. I hope that every woman in the world soon knows the dangers of drinking when pregnant, you are doing a great job so far.

Comments: Hello: My name is Mary and I am a Case Manager for a program here in Brainerd, MN. I work with chemically dependent pregnant pregnant Native American women whose unborn babies are at risk for FAS/FAE. Our program just recently opened, February 5, 1999. Our program is called New Dawn Board & Lodge. We currently got the go ahead to let women come back to our facility once they had their babies and in October 1999 we are going to let women in who have children under the age of five come in with their children of those ages. I love your web page, we too are currently working on one for our program. There are only two staff members right now. It is our hope that we can get more employees and a bigger facility, the need is there. If anyone wants further information, please feel free to email me at mdial69@yahoo.com Thank you, Mary Kay Dial Assistant Case Manager

Comments: What a wonderful website! While my son was enrolled in Early Intervention, I met and became friends with a woman whose 2 sons had FAS/FAE. While I saw the devastation that FAS wrought in all their lives, I was amazed by this mom's courage to keep fighting the good fight. This website gives readers a sense of the very real people behind this often misdiagnosed and misunderstood disorder. Keep up the good work.

(I am assuming Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Community Resource Center is the name of the organization supporting your site. As near as I am able to determine, the address would be Tuscon, Arizona.) Please let me know if this information is correct. Thank you for the superb site and your time. Janice

Comments: I am the adoptive mother of a 21 year old son that has FAS and am always looking for any help that I can find. I am currently trying to get guardianship of my son and am interested in any kind of help that I can receive that will enable him to work and live in his own apartment. He currently has a 40 hour a week job and has a one bedroom apartment. I manage all of his money, do his laundry and his grocery shopping and his cooking for him. His income is not enough to pay the bills so I am having to pay alot of the bills myself so that he can live on his own. Because he is working I have not been able to receive any kind of government assistance for him. The company he is working for may be going out of business and if it does I will then I will once again begin my search of a job that he can handle. Any input from anyone else with an adult child with FAS would be greatly appreciated.

We have an 8 year old foster daughter who has Fas and it has been a hit and miss learning experience over these last 4 years. Our biggest problem to date has been the ignorance of our school system to deal with the many problems these children suffer from. It's been a slow process to educate our teachers and school aides but it is happening!! Thank you for the information you have provided.

I have been unable to find any information or arguments on this. What I am looking for is arguments against or for: "Should parents of children born with FAS be allowed to keep their children?" The purpose of my paper is to answer this question with arguments for or against the punishment of parents. What actually is being done? I havent found anything yet telling me if anything is being done to parents. If you know of anything, could you please mail it to me. I found your web page on FAS very useful as far as statistics and information, so thank you! Sincerely, Raina A.

I am scrambling now trying to find an alternative to ten years in the Texas Department of Corrections for probation violations. Not making sceduled appointments. Imagine that! The original crime was burglary of a habitation (he got caught taking the stuff back) and got 7 yrs. adjudicated probation originally. He dosen't have a violent bone in his body and I'm sure would have a hard time in prison. Enough of that! Thanks for a very informative site!

The 5 year old's birth mother was a user of alcohol & cocaine for the first 26 weeks of her pregnancy. My heart goes out to all the innoscent children affected. I one sense I'm very angry at any mother who would let this happen. In another sense my heart goes out to that mother. If you are a mother who has made that mistake just remember that God loves you more then you will ever know. God is reaching out to you and wants to give you healing. Comments: Wonderful sight, it is so hard to find professionals in the northern Virginia, washington, D.C. area that know anything about ARBD, if it is not a classic FAS face they say no FAE or ARBD. I have two adopted sons with ARBD, one is in a RTP program, but I have found programs refuse to take ARBD into account. It makes the kid give up and say why try they just think I am mean. Any suggestions, we adopted from Montana, I am Cherokee, the boys Chippewa.

Comments: My half brother I've never met has FAS and my cousin who lives near my dad says he is the sweetest little boy she's ever met. Thank you for having such an easy sight to use and so much information on the subject.

Comments: I have really enjoyed my time at your site!. I am searching for help with a step child who is suspected of having FAS/E. She is 14 years old and nearly a handful. Any suggested sites I might visit? Thx, Dinah
